My view on Crash and Memoirs of a Geisha

Saw two movies this weekend..Its become like a weekend habit for me..Its worth waiting and paying out of ur pockets for some of these cinematic beauties, as i witnessed them in Crash and Memoirs of a Geisha..
Lemme begin with Crash..Firstly the number of stories interspersed in that was fascinating..Woven into such a connection, its not hard to imagine why this movie won the Best picture award at the Oscars. Simple everyday notations of people's lives, but with a lot of meaning and a lot of indecisions..How for us life moves and affects others is what Crash is all about..Its simple as its title calls it.. We crash into each other every moment, everyday..but how we choose to ignore, pretend and defend the nuances attached to them brings to our hindsight the result of the above actions..
I think in terms of having connected the stories, this one was the best ever I witnessed. The last time some movie came close to this was The 3 Walls(Teen Deewarien, Nagesh Kukunoor)..Racialism, forgetfullness, unminding and busy as ppl are, comes across the societies that we reside in.. Though racialism dosent necessarily prevail in a country as ours..somethin called class of ppl does get imitated..Many ppl come to think of the movie as an event of ppl's behavior in Los Angeles, but I come to see it as introspection within our own little world..Passing judgements on right and wrong in terms of people and things comes very easy to most of us..But this movie shunned all that belief I have always carried along my way of life.. I think its just not enough to LIVE and LET LIVE..There's something more to it I do not have answers to that..But, I it believe it must be an integral decision each one must make.
Coming to Memoirs of the Geisha..Firstly for newbies..it means Glorified prostitute in Japan.. or should I call it that..I came to see it as more than that.. I would term them as ppl without choice..Sold to women brokers at ages of 9 for keeping one's family alive..it is one of the most glorified market for rich class mongers, hungry for artistic and pleasure making material..U will instantly feel emotional about the way this market flourishes..
But for the movie..a first rate star cast of Japanese actors, breathtaking cinematography, lavish production sets, magnificently designed clothes, hauntingly beautiful background score and a beautifully woven story of a Geisha who falls in love at the age when most of us are learning the very walks of childhood..I rate this movie as one of the most beautiful expression of love that was told..its heartwarming wants, desires and in the end the achievement of it brought across the belief I have in that word..
Told thru the voice of the Geisha the movie takes u thru the story of the girl who is a Geisha in the making, the hardships, celebration of being that character and keeping the secret of the love that she has in that entirety..While recursively comparing it to the likes of Bollywood romances and hard fought love stories that we create, I couldnt come across any single movie that lent a meaning of what love means to a person.. for all I know we make only potboilers with mixed themes and same old formulaes..
In a nutshell, this movie will bring about that fresh change of air from the very old set of movies we keep watching from our kitty back here..or even some hollywood romances..I think this will give me happy memoirs to have watched it..

The Kannur Trip

Hi all,

Well I know u wud be waitin for my comments on that one. Each time I go for a trip, I always exclaim that this one was the best I ve had!! Well I simply cant decide on that statement. All my previous trips had an element of some vigorous events, this one had a plenty.
To start of with, I can only visualize green components with everything. Green desk, green laptop, green office, green colleagues, greenly envying frenz and greenly greenly watchin Nimish(now u know why I am saying that!!, contact sailu for non trip members!!!). I think I am gettin too Greenish here.. Err Well Kerala is green, my life is green(found 2 good green frenz). Can i ask for more???
I guess to say it first, I was not myself I mean the Sailu my ppl know wen in office..so I was myself. The ever fickle, finicky mooded guy. For once crackin rubbish statements, singing loudly, laughing away into glory and on the other lonesome in the jungle, soul searchin!!!!.
For my oldie mates..gox..welcome to the gang man!!! U did it!!join the bandwagon..Nimish, will u ever ever ever..infinitely ever change??? For once again I succeeded in gettin u pissed off at the end of the trip!!, u sang once again uffff, and ur stint with gals, can they ever change?? Well I am not writin this for askin u to change, I am just stating that plz be like this ur entire life man!!!
For the newbies..Sushama.. wot do i say?? Cute, Charming, Beautiful( Sleeping Beauty), Extroooooooverteous, coooooooooooool...that list has to go on...Ask me why, again for the non trip members!!!.. wen are we makin the next trip gals????????????
The fort, the jungle, the resort, the daaru at the sea,the cannon balls(sush u note that), the beach ( beyatch---> I know u will call me askin wats tat term),the willy's jeep, the bonfire was all a joy to have and watch.. see the pics for more!!!
I guess me and sush still went to office, nimish's citi branch..We had no luck gettin loans..but but.. we managed to know tat nimish is one hard man at office.. GOD help him if he was my boss!!!
Well at the jungle I guess we had no luck with animals.. think, they knew before hand we were coming..tigers ran away.. wot to do?? well I had one cute dog which scared me..
And for the end of the trip..one fall did it all..those legs must be hurtin still Sush..Hopefully our experiments with the cure worked!! And 2 elongated days stay at Kannur, I know the place didnt want us to leave..Office was calling!!
And I know for all that Sush wud never mind drinkin some water!!

Wake up!! We are back to work!! I want to do this all over!! HOPE never DIES they say!!!
