When will we learn??

I was stunned into silence when I saw a little piece of article about a father(in some tribal village) selling his twins for a measly 100 Rs. He did this in order to feed his family of 5. As far as my logic goes he would have lost on both fronts, one having done the deal and being able to feed his family for 2 days and second having not sold them and making the entire lot suffer. The mother of these children died instantly after giving birth, miraculously surviving the last 3 births she had been through.
I pondered about this issue and in that it gave me shivers. I was trying the blame game as to having the father on one side and the rulers of the country on the other. Conclusions could not be gathered though.
To most of us who read it, our mind would be in a sort of disgust. I somehow concluded that we as responsible countrymen and the elected leaders have such apathy towards people of the countryside( refering to tribals, BPL)..
The media, the government and the people have been bombarded by the issue of reservations, tracking a spoilt brat and his drug addiction so on and so forth.. but the real issues have taken a back seat. We are least worried about what happens to our own people across the country in small villages.. the killings in the BIMARU states, the Suryanarayan issue, the issues above, female foetecide killings.. these are forgotten chapters..we wander in the dreams of our own..
This is why decades after decades we bear the brunt of divided governments, foolish politics and an inefficient system..

Are we not responsible to change a nation which we belong to?? When will the public outcry rise?? When will education become the most important cause effect leading to betterment??
In a pure sense, the incident above could have never happened for if the father was educated.. all of this happened for survival.. elsewhere.. in news we have tribals turning cannibals..
On all of this above comments.. I dont wish to be an idealist.. but be a reminder for all of us.. that if we do not stand up today.. things would never change for good.. I dont believe we have yet achieved until all blots are eliminated..

Long live the nation!!!
